Visual and Performing Arts

At Brebeuf Jesuit, the visual and performing arts play a fundamental role in the high school curriculum.

At Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory School, the Visual and Performing Arts Department forms students in the Jesuit tradition of cura personalis—care for the whole person—by nurturing creativity, collaboration, and compassion.

Through exposure to the arts, we invite students to see and experience the world in new ways, to approach challenges with imagination, and to grow in appreciation for artistic expression in all its forms.

While not all students will continue as art-makers, we hope they will carry forward the ability to think creatively, reflect deeply, and engage with the work of others with open minds and hearts.

Rooted in Ignatian values, our programs foster a balance of discipline and discovery, helping students develop both artistic voice and personal insight. We see the arts not as a narrow path toward a career, but as a vital space for expression, growth, and formation. In doing so, students become contemplatives in action—artists with purpose, vision, and a commitment to serve the greater good.
