Retreats

alt=%22%22

Retreats at Brebeuf Jesuit are designed to give students at each grade level opportunities to develop spiritually by recognizing God in the people and events of their lives.

This is one of the most direct ways we fulfill our mission of helping students see God in all things. A variety of exercises are used to bring students together and to help them reflect on their relationships with God, others, and themselves. Retreats provide the opportunity for quiet prayer time, peer leadership, music, student presentations, journal, recreation, small and large group discussions and sharing.

Retreat Opportunities at Brebeuf Jesuit

Retreat Leadership Application

Junior and senior students, you are invited to apply to be retreat leaders! Campus Ministry needs leaders for Freshman Retreat and various overnight retreats during the 2023-2024 academic year. Leading any retreat is both a privilege and a lot of work. Leadership responsibilities include mandatory training sessions and team meetings, proper decorum, preparation, writing and presenting a talk, and co-leading a small group.

You will miss 1 day of school for Freshman Retreat, 2 days for Sophomore Retreat, and 3 days for Kairos. If selected as a leader, you will be invited by Campus Ministry and receive more information about training. Seniors may lead both Freshman Retreat, and one overnight retreat. In fact, we encourage it so we can get to know you, and so you have retreat experience before we select you for an overnight retreat.

Please note: The Dean’s Office holds the right to administer random drug tests. Any retreat leaders who fail a random drug test will be removed from their leadership position.

Questions? Contact Shaughn Phillips in Campus Ministry sphillips@brebeuf.org.

Retreat Leader Application

Please Note

Space is limited on retreats, and students must turn in applications promptly. Students are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. If too few students sign up for a particular retreat, the retreat may be cancelled and deposits returned.

Fees for the retreats are still being determined.  If your student needs a financial scholarship in order to attend a retreat, please contact the Campus Ministry Office at 317.524.7122.

Help is available and we want your child to attend their class retreat.

Students of varied faiths and religious backgrounds are welcomed and respected on all of these retreats. Leaders and retreatants, alike, speak from their own faith experience.
