Adult Formation
Our goal is that time at Brebeuf Jesuit is a formative experience for faculty and staff as well as for students.
New full-time faculty and staff participate in the Magis New Employee Formation Program. In the first year, new employees meet monthly with their cohort to learn about and discuss topics based on aspects of our school's mission, our Catholic identity, Ignatian Spirituality, and Jesuit Education. In the second year, employees explore the Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm of Context, Experience, Reflection, Action, and Evaluation and how it relates to their own life and work. Additionally, each year, all employees participate in a day-long Faculty and Staff Retreat.
Prayer and reflection are offered for all employees at faculty and staff meetings and through optional opportunities throughout the year, including faculty and staff small groups.
All employees are encouraged to pursue spiritual direction and outside retreats, and funding and other support are available for these opportunities.
