Nomination-Based Awards
Students may be nominated for Nomination-Based Awards by Brebeuf Jesuit faculty or staff members. Unless specifically noted in the description, these scholarships do not require an application process.
Application-Based Awards
By submitting a general application, current freshmen, sophomores, and juniors are placed into a pool to be considered for the following scholarships and awards, each with their own unique processes and criteria. Depending on the award, the information our scholarship committees take into account may include grade level, GPA, participation in extracurricular activities, financial need, character traits, and/or participation in community service beyond the hours that Brebeuf Jesuit’s curriculum requires. Scholarship committees may include faculty, staff, and/or family or friends of the Brebeuf Jesuit community who established many of these awards to honor the memory of their loved ones.
Once the application deadline passes, our scholarship committees begin carefully sorting through all of the student applicants’ names and using the information they have to place those who qualify into all of the appropriate buckets for further consideration. Depending on the processes put in place, some awards may require additional essays, applications, and/or interviews, but this is not the case for all scholarships and awards. Those that require additional steps are noted below. Any students who qualify for additional essays, interviews, etc. will receive those details from the Business Office.
