2027-28 State of Indiana Legislative Choice Scholarship Program Updates

Indiana is committed to expanding access to quality educational opportunities to all Indiana students. The Choice Scholarship Program provides scholarships, commonly referred to as vouchers, to eligible students in grades K-12 to help offset the cost of tuition at non-public schools that are participating in the Choice Scholarship Program. Beginning with the 2026-2027 school year, the State of Indiana has announced that all eligible Indiana students will qualify for school vouchers, regardless of income.

PROGRAM DETAILS

• To receive this scholarship, Brebeuf Jesuit provides families an application that must be completed annually that contains proof of residency for each student. The State of Indiana requires Brebeuf Jesuit to prepare and submit the Indiana Choice Scholarship Application on your behalf in the spring.

• The value of the Choice Scholarship is based on the student’s public-school corporation of legal settlement.

• The State of Indiana has released the 2026-27 Estimated Award Amounts for review, and the 2027-2028 Estimated Award Amounts are expected in the spring of 2027.

• Indiana’s Choice Scholarship Program funds students, not institutions. The state has committed to allowing parents to direct funds to the school of their choice.

The application process for the Choice Scholarship Program is NO LONGER included in the Brebeuf Jesuit need-based financial aid application process. Families should not complete a financial aid application if applying only for the Indiana Choice Scholarship.

Brebeuf Jesuit is pleased to offer a Brebeuf Jesuit Merit Scholarship to students who score in the 95th to 99th national percentile of the High School Placement Test (HSPT). All students who take the HSPT by January 1, 2027, will be considered for this scholarship during our admissions process. If a student takes the HSPT at another Catholic high school, that test result must be sent to the Brebeuf Jesuit Admissions Office from the testing school by January 1, 2027 for consideration.

A HSPT Score in the 99th national percentile qualifies for a $3,000 merit scholarship award. This award is renewable each year as long as the student maintains a 3.2 GPA or higher.

A HSPT Score in the 95th to 98th national percentile qualifies for a $2,500 merit scholarship award. The $2,500 award is renewable each year as long as the student maintains a 3.2 GPA or higher.

Scholarships are available to assist with costs for various educational, service and immersion trips organized and sponsored by Brebeuf Jesuit.

The St. Ignatius Lunch Scholarship provides a daily meal for qualified students during the academic year.

The Bring Your Own Technology (B.Y.O.T.) grant program helps families meet the technology needs of their student. We realize that this expense may present a financial hardship for some families; therefore, we work with those families individually, to ease that burden. This program operates as a reimbursement of your expenses, up to $700, for technology hardware and peripherals (i.e. keyboard, speaker, insurance).

Enrolled families that are eligible for this program will be contacted directly by the Brebeuf Jesuit Business Office.

The average textbook cost for each student is $300. We realize that this large lump-sum payment may present a financial hardship for some families; therefore, we work with those families individually to ease that burden.
