Below are Brebeuf Jesuit's COVID ProtocolsUpdated on 8/12/2022.

IF YOU HAVE SYMPTOMS OF COVID-19

Please stay home from school, and report the absence to our attendance line (mmckinneytorres@brebeuf.org or 317.524.7118). We recommend testing at home for COVID-19 when you experience symptoms, but submitting a negative test to return is NOT required. Return to school when symptoms are improving and you are fever-free for at least 24 hours.

IF YOU TEST POSITIVE FOR COVID-19

Isolate at home for 5 days from the beginning of symptoms (or from the date of the test if asymptomatic). Contact the attendance line and report your positive test, and we will identify your return-to-school date. To return on that date, make sure symptoms are improving and you are fever-free for at least 24 hours. You should wear a mask indoors at school through the 10th day.

IF SOMEONE IN YOUR FAMILY HAS TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID-19, OR YOU LEARN YOU HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO WITH SOMEONE WITH COVID-19: PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW THE CDC GUIDELINES FOUND HERE, INCLUDING:

  • Wear a mask for 10 days.
  • Monitor for symptoms, and stay home and test if symptoms develop.
  • You do NOT need to quarantine, and you may still attend school and activities.
  • It is also recommended to take an at-home test on the 6th day after exposure. Submitting a test result to Brebeuf Jesuit is not required.

REMOTE LEARNING ELIGIBILITY

Brebeuf Jesuit does not have a fully remote learning option. In situations where students need to miss school due to COVID protocols for three or more school days, we can arrange for students to join their classes online. Please make this request to the attendance line, not to each individual teacher. We may also approve online attendance in cases of extended illnesses, on a case-by-case basis. Online learning is not an option for discretionary absences such as family trips, etc.

VACCINATIONS

All students are strongly encouraged to be up-to-date on COVID vaccinations. Being up-to-date on vaccinations is the most effective thing we can do to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the Brebeuf Jesuit community and the local community. If your student's vaccination status changes after the beginning of the school year, please send that update to Amy Pitcher at apitcher@brebeuf.org

Thank you for your cooperation.
