The Brebeuf Jesuit students pictured here illustrate how you can express yourself through your wardrobe, but there are some basic rules for acceptable vs. unacceptable attire:

CONVOCATION DRESS

Students pose with St. Ignatius, who is always fashionably dressed, to demonstrate proper Convocation Dress.  The Brebeuf Jesuit Student Handbook defines Convocation Dress as follows:

“Students should wear dress clothing.  

For boys : dress pants, dress shoes, dress shirt, tie, and belt.  Sweaters and sports jackets are optional. 
For girls: a dress, a skirt or dress slacks with an appropriate top and dress shoes. 
 
All students’ shirts should be tucked into their pants, slacks or skirts at all times.  Convocation dress is for the entire day and not just the special event.”

ACCEPTABLE ATTIRE

These students know that it’s perfectly acceptable to be casual, while dressing appropriately, for their school day.

UNACCEPTABLE ATTIRE

These students are definitely not prepared for a day at Brebeuf Jesuit.

The girl on the left needs to replace her shirt with one that covers her midriff and has a more modest neckline.  The girl next to her has a similar problem with her shirt, and she needs a longer pair of shorts—shorts and skirts may be no shorter than 3 inches above the knee. The student on the right has hit a fashion don’t trifecta: sweat pants, visible undergarments, and a baseball cap.  Students: please be aware that all of these examples are grounds for a JUG and that your parents may have to bring new clothing to you at school before you may return to class.  As for the cell phone…we all know that’s a don’t during school hours at Brebeuf Jesuit.
