Service
Thirty hours of service during the assigned semester to be completed in no less than ten visits to the service site. Service hours mean on-site hours. They do not include travel time, journal or paper-writing time, conferences, group meetings, or interviews. On-site orientations and training sessions will count toward the thirty hours.

The hours of service are to be served with one agency unless otherwise agreed upon with the Community Service Director. In a few instances, a student may do service with more than one agency.
 
Carrying out the requirement of service "with people rather than paper," students must be directly involved with the clients of the agency.

Reflection
Students are required to keep a journal (10 pages) for reflection throughout the course of the service.  It should be divided into three sections, one section for each ten hours of service.  In addition, students will complete three reflection papers and will participate in three reflection discussion groups.
