While standardized test scores are not the most important credential in a student’s application, they do provide colleges with a means for comparing student abilities nationally.
Many colleges require or recommend that students submit test results as part of the admission application process. However, there are a growing number of colleges and universities that are “test optional”, that do not require a standardized test score for admission. To find out which colleges do not require a standardized test score, go to www.fairtest.org.
It is the student’s responsibility to know which tests are required by the colleges to which he/she applies, and to be certain that official scores are sent to the colleges by the testing agency.
Below, we have included a brief description of each standardized test, and the appropriate times to take that particular test. Students are always welcome, and we encourage you, to discuss your testing schedule with your College Advisor.
