The Brebeuf Jesuit English Department strives to help students develop their critical reading, thinking, and writing skills. Reading and discussion of various genres in literature, work on vocabulary acquisition, and extensive writing assignments all combine to provide students with a sound foundation in all areas of English.
Teachers of Advanced Composition have received training at Indiana University and are recognized as Instructors for the Advanced College Placement Program, enabling Brebeuf Jesuit to offer college credit through Indiana University to students taking Advanced Composition and Genres in Literature.
Students may also receive college credit by taking the AP Language and Literature tests.
