COUNSELING OFFICE

The Academic Counseling and College Counseling staff is committed to successfully guiding your student through a four-year academic plan that will best help him or her select and be admitted to a college or university well-suited to his or her abilities and goals.

Beginning with the freshman year, you and your student will meet with an academic counselor to plan a course of study that will best prepare the student for college.  The Academic Counseling Office offers a variety of services to help along the way, including peer tutoring, career interest exploration, and small group programs.  Each student will work with the same Brebeuf Jesuit counselor from freshman year through graduation.

Halfway through the junior year, students and parents will begin the college selection and application process with a college counselor.  One-on-one meetings with the college counselor are an integral part of finding and being admitted to the students’ college of choice.  In addition, families and counselors will track and manage the process together using Naviance – a college search and application management software.  The College Counseling Center also leads college visit trips, brings admissions representatives to the school, offers seminars on financial aid, and works with students to maximize scholarship dollars.
